DAY 01: NAIROBI (ARRIVAL & ORIENTATION)

DAY 02: NAIROBI – LODWAR / TURKANA COUNTY

Fly to Lodwar in the heart of Turkana. Afternoon visit to the Turkana Museum followed by exploration of the Sibiloi National Park fossil beds. DAY 03: KOOBI FORA & LOCAL HERITAGE

Full day at Koobi Fora, one of the world’s most important paleoanthropological sites. Explore excavation areas, view Homo habilis and Homo erectus remains, and examine ancient stone tools and fauna fossils dating back 1.9–1.6 million years. Afternoon visit to local Turkana villages for ethnographic insight into contemporary nomadic life and traditional craft techniques. Optional desert stargazing for cultural storytelling under pristine skies.

DAY 04: RIFT VALLEY – OLORGESAILIE & KAPTHURIN FORMATION

Return flight to Nairobi, proceed on to visit Olorgesailie to explore Acheulean hand axes and large mammal fossils from 900,000–700,000 years ago. Continue to Kapthurin Formation in Baringo County, a Middle Stone Age site featuring flint tools, ancient fireplaces, and fossilized remains. Evening discussion on early human behavior and tool use in the Rift Valley ecosystem.

DAY 05: KARIANDUSI & HYRAX HILL (NAKURU COUNTY)

Morning visit to Kariandusi, a 1-million-year-old Early Stone Age site with hand axes, cleavers, and stone tools. Afternoon excursion to Hyrax Hill, revealing early Iron Age settlements, pottery, and burials dating back 5000 years. Interpretive session on how technology and social organization evolved over millennia in Kenya.

DAY 06: NAIROBI – KILIFI / PANGA YA SAIDI

After breakfast, they will transfer to Nairobi SGR station and take a first-class train to Mombasa. Upon arrival, they will be driven to their lodge before proceeding to Kilifi County to visit Panga ya Saidi, a Late and Middle Stone Age site where they can explore human remains, symbolic artifacts, microlithic tools, and ancient beads over 78,000 years old, with an optional coastal forest walk to observe connections between local plants and early human diets, followed by an evening reflection on symbolic expression and early cultural practices.

DAY 07: GEDI RUINS
